Questions, answered.

Is this countdown GIF maker really free?

Yes, it is free during the beta. No account, no email address and no credit card. Pick an end time and a style, then create your timer. Timers can end up to 400 days ahead.

How do I edit a timer after the email is sent?

Click Create timer. You get a private edit link: bookmark it. Open it any time to change the end time, style or title, and every email already sent shows the change. Anyone with the link can edit, so keep it to yourself.

What is a daily (deal of the day) timer?

One tag that counts to 11:59:59 PM on the date in its link, in your time zone. Use the same tag in every daily email and change only the date at the end of the link.

How does a countdown timer GIF stay live in an email?

The image tag points to our server. Each time someone opens the email, their mail app loads a fresh GIF that starts at the exact time left, then ticks for the next minute. It works in Gmail, Apple Mail, Yahoo and Outlook.

What is the difference between the image tag and the downloaded GIF?

The image tag is live: every open shows the right time. A saved timer's tag can also be edited later. A downloaded GIF is a fixed file that shows the 60 seconds after you download it, which suits a slide, a post or a chat message, but not an email sent later.

What happens when the countdown ends?

The timer shows zeros and the share page says time is up. It never turns into a broken image.
